Medicare Study
Our mandate as a Medicare Demonstration Project is to serve terminally ill patients who have no appropriate caregivers in primarily rural areas in North Mississippi and parts of Tennessee and Alabama. Most Sanctuary Hospice patients have six months or less to live, reside in a rural area, have no appropriate caregiver, but need inpatient hospice care. Based upon bed capacity we will accept Medicaid hospice patients, private insurance, and indigent patients. Additionally, four rooms at Sanctuary Hospice House will be available to serve those who meet the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) definition of homeless. HUD’s definition of “homeless,” though broad in scope, includes some specific requirements. You may contact our social worker to determine if these criteria can help your loved one with admission to the Sanctuary Hospice House. Sanctuary Hospice House, Inc. does not discriminate with regard to race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, familiar status, or disability.
